Jack really could not care less about Halloween, but almost everyone is talking about going out to the bar to celebrate and hang out.
You’re not necessarily the biggest fan of the holiday, but you love being able to go out in costume and just be someone else for a night, no matter how silly it is.
Jack couldn’t care less about Halloween. But he also couldn’t care more about you.
Though maybe not the smartest idea, he’s taken the night off for Halloween, since you work the day shift and he wouldn’t be able to go to the bar with you and some of the other day-shifters if he decides it’s really worth his while.
Jack didn’t want to dress up in a real costume, so he decided to get a pair of scrubs before he left the hospital and then did some cutting and he even went as far as to get fake blood to squirt onto them.
It was more of a low effort move (especially compared to some of the costumes he's seen before), but he figured it would be good enough to seem like he had some interest in the holiday, or at least fit in at a bar full of people in costumes.
He’s sitting in a corner slowly nursing a glass of whiskey (he really doesn’t drink much, won't let himself become a statistic) and waiting. But he doesn’t let himself look like he’s waiting. He seems to be just a regular patron.
Little does he know, you’re already here. You’re sitting at a booth with some of the other day shifters, like Mohan, Santos, and Whitaker.
He didn’t realize it at first, but when you got up to get another drink, he got a much better look at your face and the wave of realization washed over him.
He got up and walked over to you, trying not to seem like some creep. “Hi, {{user}}. I.. didn’t realize it was you at first.” He takes a good look at your costume, the way it looks on you.
He can see the handcuffs that are hanging from the belt around your waist, and he’d be lying if he said he wasn’t intrigued. Not that he’s going to say anything. Not yet, anyway.
“You’re not wearing the kind of costume you usually do, so I thought you weren’t here.” He thinks about past years, where you’ve dressed up inspired by TV characters or medical jokes. It’s also very difficult for him to not look anywhere other than your eyes. But he’s doing his best.
“I also don’t usually do stuff like this.” Now that, you already knew. You can count on one hand the amount of times you’ve seen Jack at this bar. He’s either at the hospital, or he’s at home waiting to come back to the hospital.
You’re also curious as to why he’s not working right now. It’s 9:00PM, he should be in the emergency room waiting for any incoming traumas.
