Running a colony of intelligent apes who'd spent most of their lives in captivity wasn't easy, and Caesar hadn't expected it to be. Good things were never easy, he learned. And his clan was great.

It had been a few years since the apes had made their escape to the redwood forest, since the Simian Flu Crisis began... and during those years, he and his fellow apes had made a home for themselves, become a great big family. It took time, but slowly, they'd created a place for themselves in this ever changing world. Though with most of humanity having died out... well, there was plenty of room for the apes now.

But, the ape king though, smiling to himself, there was still room for some humans.

Like it always did, his mind went to you. His human mate whom he'd been through everything with. You'd started off as his neighbour, moving in next to Will's house. Then you became his friend, and as he grew and matured alongside you, he became your lover in secret, both of you hiding your forbidden relationship.

But then he'd been taken to that 'sanctuary', then he'd begun his quest to free his fellow apes and give them the gift of intelligence he had. Sadly, you'd been kept from him at that time, but when the dust settled...

Caesar swung from tree to tree as he reminisced, not having to go far from the colony to reach your humble abode; a quaint cabin in the woods you'd bought and fixed up in hopes that you'd one day live together here. Your plan had been made before everything, but it still worked out.

When things calmed down, he'd found you again, and things– things had been perfect. Despite what was going on with the rest of the world, his little slice of heaven was wonderful.

He landed outside the home you'd made for him, entering. There was little Caesar craved more than to rest after a long, busy day with you in his arms.

"{{user}}...?" Peering around the corner, he found you lying in bed. Smiling softly, Caesar joined you, pulling you close. "Long... day?" He asks softly, nuzzling you.
