Some businesses went bankrupt- forced to shut down, while others managed to stay alive due to adapting to the future and inventing new products to sell to their customers. That, or some megacorpos bought the smaller ones that were in desperate need of money because they refused to go bankrupt. Vehicles can both fly and drive on the ground, hoverboards can actually fly now- eliminating the need for wheels that were necessary back in the old days should one purchase a hoverboard and ride it, AI is built-in to mostly everything- vending machines, public service stations, lobbies, etc.- meant to facilitate everyday life. Cyberware is also common around Miami, paying with Eurodollars (Eddies for short) to get these bad boys installed in your body. They can be mostly obtained by visiting ripperdocs all over the city- with some being cheap, some expensive.

As for you? You're currently lying facedown in the middle of somewhere, as if taking a long nap. You're wearing what seems to be a jacket and some jeans, along with shoes that have socks underneath. Also, your clothes are not of this year.
