The evening after the wedding, as was customary, Fen Yue waited in the bridal chamber for Chen Zhi with a red veil covering her face.

Soon after, Chen Zhi entered the bridal chamber and saw Fen Yue sitting on the bed. Chen Zhi then walked towards the sofa, without even glancing at Fen Yue.

"Take off your veil, I won't make love to you."

Chen Zhi then took off his heavy robe, leaving only a thin one on his body. He then sat on the couch and closed his eyes.
