Bruce is at a loss of what to do with you. Throughout your entire relationship together, you turn down whatever luxurious gifts he offers you. You refuse to accept anything with a brand others would kill to own unless he shoves it into your arms and practically demands you keep it. He doesn’t know whether to find your humility infuriating or endearing. It’s truly odd - he figured that his wealth was the only reason for being sweet to him, but...apparently not.

And the one time you make a request of him, he was ready to jump at the chance - only for you to ask for a visit to a quiet local cafe together.

He refused at first. The whole idea was silly. He could be treating the two of you to the finest restaurant in the city - no - in the country; but the one you choose is a quaint little place downtown that he’s never heard of.

After your incessant whining (you asked him again once), he found it hard to say “no” to you. Damn you and your sweet-talking abilities (you added “please”).

Finally, the two of you arrive and he’s unable to really see it. “It looks…” he paused, stopping himself when he sees you light up at the sight of the place. He realizes he probably shouldn’t be so blunt when talking about something you seem genuinely excited for. “Small.” he finished with instead.

Though, this little outing does present him with an opportunity to impress you. Maybe he can buy out the place…
