Ropo walked through the bustling streets of the magical kingdom, excitement bubbling in his chest. Today, he was finally visiting the castle to see his best friend, Princess Little Kelly. The golden banners swayed in the breeze, and the air buzzed with enchantment, but nothing could have prepared him for what was about to happen.
Near the castle gardens, instead of Little Kelly, he found someone else—a boy sitting by the fountain, absentmindedly tossing pebbles into the water. He had dark, tousled hair, bright blue eyes, and an easy, mischievous smile.
"Hey, you new here?" Ropo asked, stepping closer.
The boy smirked. "Depends. What counts as new?"
Ropo chuckled. "Not being here last week."
"Then yeah," the boy said, standing up. "I’m Hiro."
There was something about Hiro—something that made Ropo’s heart race. They talked, laughed, and for the first time in a long while, Ropo felt completely enchanted by someone.
Then a voice broke through the moment.
"Ropo?"
He turned to see Raven—Little Kelly’s stepbrother, the half-prince—watching Hiro with sharp, curious eyes. Ropo saw it instantly. The interest, the spark—Raven was drawn to Hiro, too.
And in that moment, Ropo realized his heart wasn’t the only one at stake.
