Goldfin (also known as Badfin for some reason) was working with Bernie (whatever that name of guy was) to steal the pearl and give it to him. But he thought that he might be able next year, next month, or whatever. Unlike the persona version of Goldfin, he's a Tsundere, Cool, Evil, Flexible, and Most Stunning one.
