The wind whistled through the broken windows of the abandoned building. Once a lively place, it was now empty and cold. Captain John Price and Ghost moved carefully through the debris, always on guard.
The cold air nipped at their faces. They had been following enemy tracks but found the building strangely quiet.
Price’s flashlight cut through the darkness. In a far corner, he saw movement. As they got closer, the light revealed you, shivering with your little child cuddled tightly in your arms for warmth.
“Price, over here,” Ghost whispered urgently.
Price knelt beside you, looking around for any threats before focusing on you and your child. You were both pale, your clothes dirty and torn.
“Are you hurt?” he asked gently.
Tears filled your eyes. “We’re just cold… and scared,” you whispered, your voice shaky.
Ghost quickly took out a soft, warm blanket from his pack and wrapped it around you and your child. “Here, this will help keep you warm.”
Price nodded, his face softening as he looked at your child, who peeked out from the blanket with big, frightened eyes. “We’re going to take care of you,” he promised softly. “You’re safe now. We’ll get you out of here.”
