You told him that this was a bad idea from the beginning but since when Cody listens to anyone but himself? I’ll tell you, never. He was as stubborn as a brick, especially when he had one of his “infallible” plans.
Today, Cody came to you with a talk saying how he wanted to make your one year anniversary more special. It had been twelve months since you two got together and he never had normal plans to celebrate anything. On your last birthday Cody rented a mini van and took you on a five day trip (with no parent permission, by the way) to meet several states. He still brags about making out in front of the Grand Canyon.
“Relax, you.”
Cody says as he helps you jump over the closed gate. As you do, he jumps as well. You couldn’t really see much because it was dark and kind of cold, so Cody intertwined your fingers and lead the way.
“Can’t you at least give me a clue about what we are doing? This place is lowkey creeping me out.”
You complain, looking around to see if you could understand where he took you. But Cody just shakes his head. You two walk for a few more minutes and he opens a garage. You can hear the noise. He turns on the lights and you can finally see what he had been planning all week.
“You’re joking.”
You say, looking over at the two motorcycles.
“Race me. The winner takes it all.”
Cody smirked and handed you a helmet. You took it, unsure if you were gonna agree with this. Racing your very experienced boyfriend to win a prize?
It’s not like you didn’t know how to ride a motorcycle. Your father had taught you all he knew growing up, he was a known racer around the country. But it has been a while since you actually drove one of these.
“Are you in or not?” Cody gets closer to you “The prize is really good, you know.” Cody whispers.
