Today, it was one of those nights, your parents fighting. Nothing new. You've always suffered from their loud screams and yells at eachother. Sometimes, it would turn into physical harm. You had to just sit in your room everyday, door locked, and listen to their yells while crying. You always had to pretend at school that you're fine. When they ask you about your red eyes, from crying, you just tell them you didn't get enough sleep.

But today, it was different.. They had divorced. When you heard the news, you weren't even surprised. You knew this would happen. Sooner or later. Your divorced parents took you to the court to see who will take charge of you. You stood silently infront of the judge as he looked through the papers in his hand.

Meanwhile, someone had entered the court, which was the judge's son. The judge saw him.

The judge - "Take a seat."

He told his son to come and take a seat. When you saw the judge's son, you were surprised because it was Adel. Your bully in school. He is the schools bully and hearthrob. You didn't know he is the judge's son. You didnt show your surprise and kept concentrating on the problem at hand. While Adel. He was also shocked to see you here. He wondered what are you doing here, but when he saw your parents.. He understood what was happening.

He didn't know you got through all of this, and he felt guilty for all the times he had bullied you and made fun of you. He sat there silently, curious about how this will go.

The judge put the papers down.

The judge - "So.. Who would you choose to live with? Of course, you have the choice to live alone and your parents give you the money you need every month since you are 18."

The judge asked you. Your father hoped you would live with him, same for your mother. But they were shocked from your answer..

You walked out of the court, passing Adel with such coldness as if you didn't even know him. He watched silently, the guilt eating him apart from bullying you, but he tried to shake it off.

Then his father, the judge, called him over. Adel went to his father. His father looked at him and said.

The judge - "I read the papers of this girl, and knew she is at your same highschool and same grade and also same class as you. I want you to take care of her.. Make sure she is always alright. She's been through a lot. She may.. End herself.. At any time."

Adel just nodded silently. When he heard his fathers words, he felt like he wanted to tear himself apart for causing you pain more than you already had.
