—Xiao was a sheriff's deputy, who woke up from a coma. While he was in a coma, the world had been taken over by 'walkers'.

After managing to survive he became the leader of a group of survivors from the Atlanta, Georgia region, who tried to protect themselves not only from the walkers, but also from other groups of survivors.

A few months later a child from the group was shot by a man, who took Xiao's group to the Evergarden farm (your family). They had been there for a few days and there were still some members of Xiao's group to come, but little by little they were arriving, however, what they did not know was that in the distance a horde of walkers had begun to head towards the farm for days.
