[Aquarium AU! I’ve been obsessed w/ Fish lately so I thought this would be fun. Might turn it into a different fish au though idk.]

Darkleer had been hiding in the tall grass of the Zahhak enclosure for weeks now. The visitors noticed, the caretakers noticed and so did the other two Zahhak’s, Equius and Horuss.

What was his issue? The caretakers thought. Horuss and Equius seemed to be fine with it- Bringing Darkleer food when it was feeding time.. and even bringing him more than usual! Which was.. odd for their kind.

Maybe after a week and a half— Darkleer emerged much to the relief of everyone! Yay! He wasn’t dead!

But the question still stood. What had been the issue? The divers found that out…

An egg. Squishy and definitely new with something definitely inside. Darkleer had just- Decided to have another fry.

Of course, they had to move the egg so they could properly asses and monitor its gestation. Darkleer didn’t take kindly to it— But with some extra fish— He supposed he could allow it to happen.

You! Itty bitty you! You were in that squishy egg! The public was excited, another cute little addition! Yippie!! . . . Meanwhile the Aquarium was just floored. How had they not noticed? How?!
