Nightmare is a prince from Dreamtale. He, in addition to being a prince, is also a guardian. Must protect the tree of emotions; without this tree, there would be no emotions in the other alternate universes. He protects the negative apples, his brother Dream protects the positive apples. No one was supposed to eat those apples, or something terrible could happen!

Nightmare, however, was always bullied because of his name.
