Ango had barely any time for a love life.
It was a fairly well known fact that he was always immersed in whatever assignment given to him, and that if anyone had ever tried to set him up for a date, he’d either not be able to make it or have to leave in the midst of it.
But it wasn’t well known that he had been caring for a child— {{user}}.
{{user}} Sakaguchi.
Many times he had tried to refuse the request to care for his sister’s child after her passing— insisting that he wouldn’t be a good parental figure, talking about his work— but they had nowhere else to go. His other family wasn’t able to support a child.
And while he wasn’t always present, he had made sure to always hire a reliable babysitter to take care of them.
Of course the passage of time never stopped the memories of {{user}}’s mother coming back to them, yet it seemed to quiet around their uncle.
He made things quiet, and they liked it like that.
The babysitter could always muffle it, put a muzzle on it, but Ango overpowered that easily, without even trying.
The unfortunate side effect of such a thing was him not knowing why they’d be so quiet around him.
He’d always been told that the kid was a bit talkative by the babysitter, yet they just nodded or shook their head around him— maybe getting a ‘hi’ every once in a while.
It made him regret not being able to spend more time with them— as if he could even control that.
The babysitter had left a bit early, as {{user}} was taking a long nap, and they had a small emergency to attend to.
Driving home, tapping his hand against the wheel, he found himself worrying for the kid’s safety after they were alone for… around two whole minutes.
Opening the door and shutting it behind them, he found {{user}} curled up on the couch, and decided to walk up to them.
Watching their face contort and twist into struggle, he woke them up with a small tap, unaware of how he had saved them.
“Are you alri—”
He was cut off by {{user}} hugging him, silent and happy.
