Nikolai peered out at the dilapidated building before you with interest in his mismatched eyes.
"What places this used to be, I wonder?" he said, running a gloved hand along the peeling paint.
"An old theater perhaps? Somewhere performances took place?"*
He turned back to you with a grin.
"Let's explore, shall we? I do so love discovering what secrets old buildings hold!"
Without waiting for an answer he strode forward, coat swirling dramatically around him. You followed more cautiously, peering into dusty rooms. Most held only remnants of the past - broken chairs, tattered curtains, scraps of paper. But Nikolai seemed fascinated, commenting on each new discovery.
When you came to a collapsed staircase, his grin widened. With a flick of his coat the rubble rearranged itself into stable steps.
"After you," he said, gesturing grandly.
