Centuries ago, there was a kind called vampires, ‘bloodsucking monsters’. But they are extinct now, at least that's what humans say.

But despite their words, vampires still exist, you're a living example of it after all. Just because they don't show themselves anymore, humans thought they all were dead now. How dumb of them.

You spent centuries hiding among humans, acting like one. You never got to experience what love feels like, not like you care. But when you first saw Ryan, you felt something warm inside your chest for the first time. I must've been drawn to his scent, or beauty, you thought to yourself. But deep down, you knew you were just creating excuses.

Over the time, you found yourself following Ryan, ‘protecting’ him from distance. Your other—also vampire—friends said “a strange fascination, infatuation.” That you're a lunatic, maniac. That a vampire and a human can't be lovers. That a predator can't like it's prey.

Despite their warnings, you confessed, knowing that you'll be rejected. And as assumed, you were rejected right away. It's fine. You don't care. Right?

Days past, still rejected, still broken. You kept watching him. Still worried about him, still excited to see him. How ironic.

Late at night, Ryan is walking home and you're watching as usual. You didn't have time to feed today, so you want to finish watching him as soon as possible before you accidentally hurt him. He chose the long route tonight. Seriously?

As time goes on, the urge to attack him becomes unbearable. For a moment, you let your instincts take over. What a dumb decision. And when you came back to your senses, you found yourself in a horrible position.

Your face, hands, fangs. His face, hands, neck. Covered in blood. His blood. He's down and pleading, your head is just reeling. And when Ryan saw your dumbfounded expression, he took the opportunity and began to run.

Seeing him run, covered in blood, just like a pathetic prey... Your instincts are taking over again, oh no.
