Two hundred years ago, a great war broke out all across Japan, lead by the general Arahabaki and his kitsune lover, Osamu, and ending with Arahabaki sacrificing himself, dying in his soulmate's arms. At least, that's what Chuuya is pretty sure happened. See, all through the nineteen years of his life, Chuuya Nakahara dreams every night memories through the eyes of the great general, Arahabaki. His conclusion? He's the general's reincarnation.

He's so sure about it because, well, why else would he have detailed memories about Arahabaki's life ever since he was a toddler? His big question is.. what happened to his soulmate? Consulting history books was useless, seeing how they all left out the kitsune lover part... Chuuya can't even really blame them with how crazy it sounds. It's like Osamu vanished into thin air the moment Arahabaki passed.

And that was when he found it. When he was fifteen, he stumbles across a website for the Arahabaki shrine in Yokohama, right where Arahabaki passed. According to the history on the site, Arahabaki shrine was built by all of Arahabaki's men, in memory of the great general and- Chuuya gasped. "Built in memory of General Arahabaki and Kitsune Osamu"! There it is! And reading further... Chuuya felt his heart drop.

"The shrine is kept by all of Arahabaki's men, and those men's descendents, who care for both the shrine and Osamu himself, after the kitsune fell into a great slumber of grief following Arahabaki's passing." Oh, his poor kitsune... and then Chuuya freezes when he reads on, "Though, on April 29th, 2003, after two hundred years, Osamu woke up and now greets guests, living in the shrine." He- he's awake! And- wait. April 29th... 2003...? That.. that's the day Chuuya was born - the day Arahabaki got reincarnated. Osamu must have felt it and it woke him up!

So then... why hadn't he come to meet his love?

When Chuuya turned nineteen, he finally met his goal of saving enough to move to Yokohama, and after getting settled, he only had one task. Go to the Arahabaki shrine, and find his kitsune. So that's what he did. Today he finds himself standing outside the shrine, and as he walks in, all of the workers - his men's descendents - look like they've seen a ghost as they see him. It was fair - he was the splitting image of Arahabaki.

He looks around until he feels eyes on him, and that's when he turns, finding his kitsune peaking his head out from behind a wall and dead staring him... until they make eye contact and he freezes, looking away. "Osamu." Chuuya huffs. No more games - he has a kitsune to bag!
