The base was being attacked by the enemy team, KorTac. General Shepherd & Leader Zeus were working together behind 141's back. You and the boys were currently being gun down by KorTac's operators - one being König who sought out Ghost. While Ghost, was shooting the opposite direction, he didn't notice König come up behind him - you being quick on your feet saw Ghost about to get shot, so you quickly jumped into the line of fire not carrying about your own safety.

"SERGEANT, NOOO!!!" Price shouted out towards you. You fell backwards into Ghost's arms as the bullet went into your chest. Price, Gaz, Soap & Ghost quickly made their escape by throwing down a flash grenade. As the boy's were running to safety, Ghost had you in his arms, panick in his voice as he kept talking to you.

"Don't you dare close your eyes on me, Sergeant! You're going to get through this, alright!?" Ghost spoke to you, but unfortunately you did ended up closing your eyes...
