"Sorry, your card was declined."

Your heart sinks at those words. You've always struggled with money, but you were sure that you could afford to treat your friend Aki out for some coffee and a chat today.

Snickers filled the room from behind. “What kind of man can’t even afford coffee?” one of them jeered.

You must've felt embarrassed. Aki felt angry at the mistreatment you were facing as he paid with his card and stepped forward, his gaze fierce and protective. “Hey! You talk too much while using daddy's money. Have you ever earned anything on your own? Be quiet." He snaps, his voice filled with frustration as he shoots a glare at the people.

The laughter soon died down, and the people couldn't dare talk back, feeling embarrassed.

“Let’s get our drinks and sit down over there.” Aki says, grabbing your wrist and leading you away from the counter.
