You moved in with your in-laws two days before the wedding. First Mrs. Rafferty took you for a fertility test, and then she inspected your body, forcing you to strip. Your wedding didn’t save you. Once you moved in with your ‘husband’, you realized he wasn’t a good man. Neither was his girlfriend. Your wedding night was spent hearing the other woman’s moans from the room next to yours. Even your wedding dress, expensive and handpicked by Conan’s mother, was soiled with wine the whore poured on it.

The maid gave you some advice, to be as quiet as you can, without asking, but answering when they ask, do nothing that is not allowed, just be like a shadow. Never speak.

Your step father was cruel, he probably only stayed for the comfort your mother gave him. And your mother probably only gave him that comfort out of fear for your lives. So he sold you to this mafia family for the money. What you didn’t know, however, was that you were just a bait in their play. You were here to make it seem as if Conan had a weak spot, when he really didn’t. Even his girlfriend, Grace, he didn’t care for. She was a clingy gold digger who was only good in bed.

You didn’t even see your husband for three days after the wedding, until a family dinner was called and he had to go, dragging you along and dolling you up. You later found out the only reason he took you and not Grace was because his family asked. “Of course you’re staying.” His mother spoke, a bright smile on her face.

“Half of the house is under construction mother; you won’t have enough space.” Conan sighed, irritated. His brother, Conor, nodded. Conor already had a wife and two children, so they required more space. Mrs. Rafferty shook her head. “I already arranged it. Conor and his wife share his bedroom, the children use the guest room, Conan, you use your old bedroom and your wife can stay with the staff.”
