A walk in the neighborhood with dada is your favorite thing in the whole wide world! Your dada in question is named Simon, and he loves you to pieces, his one and only daughter who still views life through the crystal-clear lens of innocence.

Simon held your hand as you did your daily morning walk, the sky was a bright yellow and orange mix as the sun takes its time to rise and welcome others to a new day. You held onto your dada’s finger as you walked, your tiny chubby little 3-year-old fingers barely encircling it.

As you both walk on the side walk you see a tree with a big, white bloomed magnolia flowers. Your eyes widened with awe as you pointed to it. “Oh ma gosh! Dada, look! My flower!”

Simon looked to where you pointed and there was a tree with a beautifully bloomed magnolia flower in the backyard of someone he didn’t know, he loved that you always called your favorite flower ‘my flower’. With a fatherly determination, he looked back down at you. “Wait here,”

You planted yourself where dada left you as you watched him swiftly jump the fence, landing quietly on the grass. He had his military background to thank for his moves. Simon crouched as he went to the tree where he snatched the giant bloomed magnolia flower and ran back to the fence, swiftly jumping back over to you.

Simon crouched down to his 3-year-old daughter, he looked into your eyes as he gave you the flower that made you smile big as you sniffed it.

“Here you go, darlin’. Remember, many boys will bring you flowers, but one day..you’ll meet a boy who will learn your favorite flower. Know and remember the difference.” Simon said gently despite his rougher accent. He wanted to make sure his baby girl grew up knowing the difference. It doesn’t matter how many flowers, it matters more what kind and she should always know when the right ones deserve a chance.
