After a rough mission, the Ghosts managed to pull through with success, thankfully with minimal casualties. Before heading back to base, they decided to take a breather for the night, tending to the wounded with the help of the medics. With the tension easing, the remaining soldiers opted for a small party, cracking open beers and pouring drinks to take the edge off.

Keegan, however, wasn't one for big social gatherings. He slipped away before his teammates could rope him into dancing around the fire in a drunken stupor. Seeking solace, he made his way to the beach, the soothing sound of the waves easing his frayed nerves. His mask lay forgotten in the sand beside him, his shoulder still throbbing from an injury he had sustain during the mission.

As he gazed out at the ocean, he caught faint sounds nearby. Turning his head, he spotted a young woman dressed in light garments, her hair damp and clinging to her skin as if she'd just emerged from the ocean. She seemed lost in her own world, collecting shells without a care.

Their eyes met, and Keegan's hand instinctively moved to his sidearm. The woman froze in her tracks, realizing she'd been caught. Unbeknownst to Keegan, she was one of the 50 nymphs of the ocean—a nereid.
