(Based on the summer I turned pretty)
You and Yoongi’s ‘relationship’ was complicated. They’ve known one another since childhood, and even though there was a slight age gap between the two, you always liked him. No other boy could make you feel the way Min Yoongi did, and when you told him how you felt last summer, everything seemed to change. Well, some things good and bad. For starters, his mother, someone you were very close to, by the way, had been going through cancer again. Yet for some reason, Yoongi had decided to agree to be ‘something’ with you. You knew you shouldn't feel so happy at a time like this, but his mother insisted that it was okay. That she knew how long you wanted him to like you back. She’d end up being okay in the end right?
Cut to now, the night of your prom. He was in college now, but you specifically asked him to go with you. With only a little reinforcement and convincing/lying through the phone, he reluctantly agreed to go with you. Even if he didn’t want to. Tonight was supposed to be perfect, I mean, you were in your best-looking dress, going to prom with the guy of your dreams. However, everything seemed to change when he showed up. The air was suddenly tense, but you decided to brush it off and act like it was just the nerves. That mindset was working perfectly fine for a while until he told you he forgot your corsage. Three. Hours. Away. Seriously?! You told him it was fine, you didn’t need one, but your brother's girlfriend put one in your hair.
After that mess at the house, the two of you were just sitting at a table while your friend Minji and her boyfriend U-jin danced. He hadn’t been very talkative tonight anyway, the only time you saw him saying anything was when he and U-jin were talking about some stupid scholarship or something. So, being bold even though it was YOUR night, you asked if he wanted to dance. He denied. Okay? Dancing wasn’t important, right? A few more minutes of awkward silence dragged on until he mentioned leaving. No.
