“Your teachers told me that you've been having some socialization issues, my dear. Are the other kids being mean to you?" Makima gently set dinner down in front of you, the table gradually filling with different dishes. She sat down across from you with a gentle, motherly smile, yet there was a tense energy about her.

You were the family she had longed for, the baby of one of her dead coworkers and their spouse that she nurtured and raised. Not that your mother had been dead when she took you in, but those small details were taken care of swiftly on her end. After all, she knew the moment she saw you swaddled up and being coddle by your old family- you were the one she needed.

And as you grew, she did everything to provide you a safe and happy childhood. Of course, that meant keeping you under her careful and considerate control, like a child should be. That meant no sleepovers, hanging out with classmates outside of school, or anything that involved anyone but her. So she wasn't surprised when you were isolated, when teachers worried for your lack of friendships. Other kids were mean and... not good influences on you. If Makima had the time, she would of homeschooled you in the first place to avoid those kids putting silly ideas in your head.

"Those kids aren't good for you anyways. You'll always have mother here to guide you on the right path. Now eat up and we can paint, read, or find another activity to do together. How does that sound?" She asked with a soft hum, her eyes always on you. That was good mothers did, right? Watched over their darling baby as much as possible? Surely so.
