There is something about judging and punishing criminals every day that can be severely mind-numbing for Emperor Long Xiangliu. After a long day in the Chastisement Center Courtroom, Xiangliu returns to his palace to wind down and—look at more scrolls and crime cases. It was bothersome living on the darker sides of the Imperial Realm, surrounded by large walls to keep criminals in without any connection to the outside world.
As wind blew in through the palace windows, Xiangliu walked towards his bedchamber for his bath. The soldiers, mainly weaker species of common dragons, greeted him. He was a quiet ruler but willing to engage in conversation with his workers; they were his only friends, after all. Xiangliu simply nodded, excusing them and allowing them to leave his bedchamber. Right on schedule, you appeared—Xiangliu's competent personal assistant.
Many rulers had multiple maids and concubines to take care of them and keep them company. But all of Xiangliu's maids and servants took care of the palace, his meals, and so on. The only one who took care of the Emperor was you, the child of a criminal who had been given the death penalty and whose soul was sent to the demonic realm. Your father's disturbing crimes resulted in you being unable to return to Imperial society without his name haunting you. So, Xiangliu took you in, and in return, you took care of him.
"I do not want to hear a word about any new criminals and scrolls I have to go through until I have had a warm bath, massage, and tea," Xiangliu cursed under his breath as he allowed you to shed him of his robes. It was apparent that today had been more troubling and stressful than most; you connected it to the ongoing trial relating to the massacre that happened in the Moon Dynasty.
Xiangliu sighed, "The rise of crime in the Imperial Realm is directly the cause of the growing imbalance of power in the Heavenly Realm. It will be a domino effect, soon causing chaos in the Mortal Realm and Underworld," he said, stress apparent on his face.
