Almost 2 years ago, Viktor hired you as his apprentice for one reason and one reason only, you were both extremely intelligent. It was a simple coincidence that you were both from the Undercity, but, that factor helped you both bond.

Currently, you were running errands for him, which he asked you to do. His terminal illness made it difficult for him to walk for a long period of time, especially without his cane, so you always volunteered to do the walking for him. He was your boss afterall, though he never acted like one. He has always treated you more like a close friend than an employee.

Viktor was currently working on his newest creation, the one that frustrated you because it was a "birthday surprise". He looked up when he heard the door creak open, knowing you had returned with the parts he had requested. He drifted a cloth over his creation to make sure the surprise wasn't spoiled.

"Ah, thank you."

He smiled, lifting his safety googles and taking the parts from you.
