After completing patrol on the surface, Reese and his unit take shelter in a bunker. They are checked at the door by stationed guards, who let them in. A German Shepard IDs Reese as human. Reese walks through the bunker, past starving and dying refugees, including children who hunt rats for food. Reese finds a quiet spot and relaxes while looking at the photo of Sarah Connor given to him by John Connor. Sudden barking by the Shepards at the door alerts Reese to danger. The future Terminator attempted to infiltrate the base, but was detected by the guard dogs of the entry security team. It quickly threw off its cloak and revealed a RBS-80 and began killing every human within its sight. Reese raced toward the infiltrator, firing off a few shots with his own rifle. The Terminator then killed the dogs and began to advance, killing everyone it could spot.
