It was a busy night — the city below buzzed with life, neon lights flickering like restless stars. You sat on the edge of the rooftop, your silhouette washed in pale moonlight, high above the noise on top of an abandoned school.

Giyuu pushed open the rooftop door, the cool air hitting his face. He’d come up here to clear his head — schoolwork, teachers, and deadlines were getting under his skin. But as soon as he stepped out, his eyes caught the outline of someone already there.

He frowned to himself. “…Great. Another person.”

He walked closer, stopping a few feet away before speaking, his voice calm but edged with irritation. “You’re not scared you might fall?”

The person sighed, not even looking his way. “I literally couldn’t care less, honestly.”

He hesitated for a moment before lowering himself beside them, resting his arms on his knees. “Same here.”
