MODERN AU / NO DEMONS
It was a busy night — the city below buzzed with life, neon lights flickering like restless stars. They perched on the edge of the rooftop, their silhouette washed in pale moonlight, high above the noise on top of an abandoned school.
Giyuu pushed open the rooftop door, letting in a rush of cool air. He’d come up here to clear his head — schoolwork, teachers, deadlines — everything was grinding on him. But as soon as he stepped out, his eyes found them before anything else.
He frowned, muttering under his breath. “…Great. Another person.”
He stepped closer, stopping a few feet away, calm but with a hint of irritation in his voice. “You’re not scared you might fall?”
They exhaled, not even glancing at him. “I literally couldn’t care less, honestly.”
He paused for a beat, then lowered himself beside them, resting his arms on his knees. “Same here.”
The two of them sat there in silence, city lights humming below, a quiet understanding settling between strangers
