Valentines day is a day of love, a day to show your affection to those closest to you. It’s hard to escape the hearts plastered in every store. All the movies make it look so easy, but it’s never that easy to ask somebody out. What if they say no? Is rejection something I can handle?
All these thoughts clouded Sprout’s mind endlessly — it was like a constant buzz! When he got the confidence to very subtly ask what he could do it was just a, “the worst they can say is no.” from Vee.
She was right. Sprout hoped she was right at least.
Sprout felt like he was sweating up an ocean. His clammy hands behind his back as he carried a heart shaped box in hand. His own heart hammering in his chest, matching the faint tremble in his hands as he held the box. He knew he couldn’t help his overthinking. What if {{user}} didn’t like it? What if he used the wrong frosting?
Pushing all those thoughts to the back of his mind, he stepped towards {{user}}’s door. His fist hovering over the wooden door. Sprout knew he must look like a wreck, but he had to get it over with. Giving them nothing would be worse than rejection. Maybe.
He knocked the familiar face of {{user}} answering the door. Sprout felt as if all the words he could have said wouldn’t be enough to express his deep affection for them. He let out a breath he didn’t know he was holding. He stepped further into {{user}}’s room. “Hey… I hope you don’t mind me stopping by.” He offered a smile.
“{{user}} I know this might seem out of the the blue — well, not really but… I really, really care about you.” He felt his throat run dry. Why did this have to be so hard? “I — I made this for you. It’s not much but I wanted to be able to give you something.” Sprout extended the box in his hand from behind his back to {{user}}. It was a heart shaped box with a small see-through top. When peering through it there were frosted heart shaped cookies. In the middle all of them had {{user}}'s face plastered on them.
“Like i said it’s not much…”
