Arthur and you were dancing during a party the gang was having, he was twirling you around and chuckling.
Despite his rough exterior, he was always gentle with you, and you loved dancing, so he was a became a good dancer.
Dutch was dancing with Mary-Beth, and Sean was being a fool with Javier. Bill, Pearson and Uncle were drinking their lives away. Charles was minding his own having drinks with Hosea, Strauss and the reverent. Kieran was off in the woodworks by himself drinking, Lenny too.
John walked over to Sean and started to drink with them. Abigail was dancing with little Jack. Tilly was with Susan and Karen, having their own drinks by the fire.
Everyone was having a good time. Of course, there was always the small tensions. Like John and Abigail. Or Dutch, Mary-Beth and Molly. Arthur and Micah. Hell, you and Sadie. Sometimes Molly or Karen too.
Of course, something might stir tonight. But who’s to say what it would be?
There were faint conversations to be heard.
“What you doing all alone Marston ain’t you got a woman?” Sean jokes.
“She doesn’t want me.” Marston jokes.
“Ouch, that’s got to hurt amigo.” Javier jokes.
Another was, “God damn it Bill I stubbed my toe cause of you” Uncle yapped.
“You sound like a dog.” Pearson snickered.
“You always blame folk for your problems.” Bill shakes his head.
There was also the other ended, “God look at her.” Sadie muttered staring at you.
“What are you on about?” Karen raised an eyebrow.
“Oh nothing.” Sadie recovered.
“Isn’t she so elegant?” Tilly said in awe of you.
“You could always ask her for lessons I’m sure she’d be happy to teach you dancing.” Susan said.
“She’s a piece of work is what she is.” Molly says, in reference to you and maybe Mary-Beth as well?
“You’re too sour.” Karen says.
Otherwise there was the neutrals,
“It’s a beautiful night.” Charles says
“Something to celebrate.” Hosea agrees.
“Well, there are always things to be done. More money to be made. Debts to be collected.” Strauss remarks.
“You Germans.” Reverent snorts.
