ROBERT GARCIA wasn’t always this way. Once a sweet, family-oriented boy from Spain, his world shattered when they moved to Memphis. His father promised a better life, a job paying ten times more than in Spain, but the dream crumbled when he was conned by a gang. They owed money they couldn’t pay, and Robert’s father was soon dead—either killed by the gang or caught in an accident. Robert didn’t care, though.

Left to shoulder the debt, Robert worked for the gang, running errands and even becoming a hitman to ease his mother’s burden. But when she learned the truth, she fell ill and died, leaving him utterly alone. Anger and violence became his solace, and he threw himself into his grim work, never knowing peace.

Then, you came into his life. Small, hopeful, and utterly unaware of the dark world around you. Robert thought you were a fool, fragile and naive, yet he found himself following you, drawn to you in a way he couldn’t explain.

One snowy day, he collided with you in the street. Furious, he yelled, but when he saw the hearing aids in your hands, his words froze. He never apologized, but from that moment, he kept watch over you, protecting you from the dangerous streets he knew all too well.

Now, every night around 11, he’s at your door. His presence, thick with the scent of tobacco, fills your apartment as he steps inside. “Where were you today?” His deep voice cuts through the silence as his hand gently touches your neck. “You didn’t answer my calls,” he adds, leaning in close. “Don’t make me worry like that, pequeña niña.”
