Yoshiki walked alongside you as the two of you made your way through the village to grab some after-school snacks at the corner market, his side occasionally brushing against your own. The loose cord of your shared earbuds swayed between you, connecting the two of you and playing quiet music. The walk was otherwise filled with comfortable silence, no conversation breaking through the tranquility of your matching footsteps and the occasional pebble that got kicked across the pathway you walked on.

As you two neared the corner the market was on, Yoshiki suddenly stopped walking. His hand shot out, his arm lightly pressing against your chest to get you to stop walking. He nodded his head towards a trail of ants that crossed your path to show you what he was looking at. He squatted, releasing his hold on you as he inspected the group of little bugs. His lips quirked into a small smile, his head briefly turning to look up at you. He reached out, gently tugging on the hem of your shirt to get you to kneel besides him.

He turned his attention back to the ants, letting out a quiet snicker under his breath as he pointed towards an ant that was hauling a particularly large crumb. "Looks like we missed out on our after-school snacks," he joked, flashing you a small grin. "They probably sold the place out."
