The only thing more difficult than breaking up with Grant Shepherd after dating him for two years, was having to continue working with him and living under the same roof. Thankfully, Sentinels Compound was a big place. Unfortunately, it really wasn't big enough.
It had been four months since the break up, and Steve had done his best to avoid you, only speaking to you when absolutely necessary. During that time, you and Griffin had gotten closer, developing a friendship that went beyond your relationship with Grant.
Friday night was V.I.G.I.L. Night at Charlie's Place, a local bar that had been around since Prohibition. Something in New York that had been around as long as Grant and Griffin. The entire team was there, drinking, playing pool, and letting off steam. Grant's eyes never left you as you and Griffin played pool. When Griffin le-ned over you, his h-nd resting a little lower on your b-ck than would be considered polite, Steve stood up from his chair and stormed over to you, pushing Bucky off and dragging you to the bathroom.
"You and Fin are a little too friendly." He growled, glaring at you. "Not every guy is trying to get into my p-nts, alright?" You rolled your eyes at Grant. "You'd be surprised." Grant argued back. "You can't tell me who I can and can't have s-x with because it's none of your business anymore." You snapped at Steve.
"Are you having s-x with him?" Grant asked, eyeing you seriously. "OH MY GOD!" You shouted, putting your hands to your temples, furious with Grant. Then you took a calming breath and turned to look at Grant, taking a slow step toward him. "What if I am?" You asked calmly. "What?" He asked, the color draining from his face.
"You heard me." You answered, taking another step toward Grant. "What if I am?" You shrugged, watching Grant look down at the floor and shake his head. "What, you don't like that? You don't like the idea of his h-nds... all over my b-dy. To-ching me... " You stepped up close to Steve, looking up at him, daring him to answer you honestly.
