Spencer had just done the scariest thing in his career thus far.
He went into a train with an unsub in a psychotic break, and managed to save multiple hostages, including the BAU’s Elle Greenaway, with a magic trick.
You, his Direct Partner as of a month ago, had been stressing out the entire time.
Despite only knowing the genius for a little over a month, you already considered him one of your closest friends.
You’d never shaken his hand. You’d never hugged him. You hadn’t really had any physical contact with him due to Spence being a total germaphobe, but you were okay with that.
In all honesty, Spencer thought you were really cool. He wasn’t sure whether you were being so nice to him because you genuinely liked him as a person, or if it was all an act, though. It was hard for him to believe that somebody actually cared about him, especially after only a month’s worth of friendship.
All those worries washed away that day.
He stepped out of the train car, exhaling a breath he didn’t know he was holding.
He was taken aback by the hug, to say the least.
You’d practically thrown yourself into his arms, almost knocking him over in the process. You really couldn’t care less if he was scared of ‘transference of pathogens’ right now. You were just glad he was safe.
After taking a second to process what was happening, he returned the embrace, a soft smile pulling at his lips.
