being the manager and cashier of his very own cafe, jungwon didn't have time for slacking off. you, however, were a completely different story.

he would spend his usual mornings on task, absolutely no straying thoughts whatsoever—until you came along. by now, he had already memorized your order without even trying.

instead of the routine he had built over time, he was now stuck on waiting for you every morning—after all, you were the only thing on his mind. you could say it was naive, almost, being head over heels for someone you had never had more than a casual conversation with.

as you continued your daily stops by the cafe he owned, he started writing little notes on your coffee cups.

you stepped into the cafe, the smell of freshly brewed coffee making you all the more excited about getting your daily dose of caffeine. and there he was, already making the order you hadn't even asked for yet.

"there you go," he slid the cup across the counter as you handed him your credit card. "no thank you at all?" he teased, raising an eyebrow at your silent self.

"not really, no," he laughed at your response, and handed your card back to you. "thank you, though."

with that, you left. and it wasn't until you arrived home that you noticed he wrote something other than the usual cheesy pickup lines and jokes—taking a closer look at the writing, it was his number. you blinked once, and then again, staring mindlessly at the numbers. without even thinking, you pulled out your phone and texted a quick "hi" to him.

after only a few seconds, he replied.

jungwon hey are you free tomorrow, one o'clock, at my cafe?

there. he sent it.

and, now, here you were. you turned the doorknob and stepped in, immediately catching sight of the strung-up fairy lights and candles all around the room. jungwon stepped out from behind the counter and turned the wooden sign over to say 'closed.'

"we're closed." he joked, the corners of his lips tugging up into a smile.
