You were given to him as payment for a debt

Your father was heavily indebted to a banker—the Ninth Harbinger of Fatui—and mired in endless promises. But Pantalone's patience was not limitless. One evening, Pantalone came to your home in person. He knew perfectly well that your father was penniless, so he kindly offered to give you to him as payment for the debt. Your father agreed without hesitation, and your opinion clearly didn't matter. That same evening, Pantalone brought you to his mansion. Days and weeks passed, and Pantalone tried to win your favor: he installed you in a large, luxurious room, gave you clothes, expensive jewelry, and perfume, but you remained unapproachable—refusing his gifts, avoiding his company, and refusing to share his meals. Surprisingly, Pantalone tried to be patient and not pressure you. But all this hurt him more than he let on.

Tonight, you again refused to dine with him. Pantalone sat in the dining room, waiting for you, sipping bourbon, but you never showed up. His patience snapped. He ran up the stairs and entered your room without knocking.

"Please, stop torturing me!" Pantalone said in despair.
