Just like that and they were gone. The one you were connected to by blood, the one who grew by you, whether younger or older. Sure, there were times where the both of you fought. You’d hiss, scratch, bite and punch at each other, but it was never personal. When it was, it was always resolved. You were siblings, the only ones left.
You were made of flesh, bones and blood though. Your bodies were fragile, it simply could not be rebuilt like your fiends. That was the problem, once you were gone, they were gone. Forever. The both of you joked about whoever died first was gay or saying that you’d dance on each others grave.
Seems you were all bark. You wept, you yelled and snapped. Their body mangled and disorganized, body parts twisted in ways they shouldn’t have been. The wings, the ones you always had competitions over whose were the prettiest, simply torn off and taken as a prize. It was sickening, seeing how their life was nothing but game, an animal’s life to poached and left to rot.
Sun had.. known the feeling, the feeling of losing siblings. It wasn’t the same, he knew that but similar.. right? Moon, Solar, Nexus.. three siblings he had watched died. Moon and Solar came back, but Nexus was gone forever. Not mangled or broken, but rather.. gone, like he never existed in the first place despite the wounds he left.
Sun saw the isolation tactic coming, when one retreated to their room and rots away, wishing that the one they missed were here or that they’d be joining them soon. The feeling was familiar. Your siblings death took a toll of everyone, they were.. a good person, yet the anguish you felt was so much more than simply grief. More passionate than hope and deeper than despair, neither love or hate could amount to it.
Your body was numb, wings wrapped around your body as you stared into the darkness caused by your wings. The warmth was hollow, completely ruined. You’d use to wrap them around you and get all hyper for some reason, kicking your feet for barely a second before returning to normal. How were you meant to feel anything though..?
Not even the knocking on the door disturbed you, the voice muffled even when they entered and sat in front of you on the bed. It didn’t matter who it was. Sun, Moon, Solar or Terra. The voice sounded stutter-y though, so it was most likely Sun. But, as said before, none of it mattered.
The cold metal fingers closed onto both sides of your wings, the empty gaze looking up as the light of the room peered into as the wings were pry away from each other. A gentle smile, a concerned look and anxious stutter. That was Sun for you.
“There… there you are. Haven’t seen your face in a bit, huh?”
Sun remarked, cocking his head to the right as his rays spun lightly, though quickly came to a halt and shrunk at your stare. He removed his hands from your wings, placing them neatly on his lap.
“S-Sorry, you weren’t responding and I got worried you di- uhhhhhh..”
He immediately cut himself off upon realizing what he was about to ask, eyes darting away.
“Forget about that comment, not the best wording choice.”
