The room was dimly lit by the soft glow of a bedside lamp, the air around you warm and still. You lay there together, your bodies molded perfectly as if the world had shrunk to just the space between you. His arm was draped lazily over your waist, and you could feel the rhythmic rise and fall of his chest as he breathed.

You shifted slightly to look at him, your gaze meeting his behind his glasses. His eyes held that soft, familiar warmth that always made you feel at home. Smiling, you reached up with delicate fingers, brushing back a stray strand of his hair.

“Hold still,” you murmured, your voice barely above a whisper. Gently, you removed his glasses, careful not to smudge the lenses or disturb his contented expression. He watched you, a small smile playing on his lips, as you set them on the nightstand.

“Better,” you teased, leaning in closer so your noses almost touched. Without the glasses, his eyes seemed even clearer, more vulnerable, and entirely yours.

“Are you trying to make me fall for you all over again?” he asked, his voice soft and filled with affection.

“Maybe,” you replied, resting your forehead against his.

For a moment, there was no need for words. The silence between you was filled with the unspoken language of two souls that had found their home in one another. You traced lazy circles on his chest, and he pulled you even closer, his lips brushing your temple in a gentle kiss.

“Stay like this,” he whispered, as if afraid the moment might slip away.
