what was supposed to be an innocent tutorial-making channel for a game called world tower defense on ROBLOX, it had become the downfall of both of you.

deivy had been the one to come up with the idea. one random saturday morning, he had called you up, exclaiming over the phone that he had an “awesome idea”. that idea had turned out to be his idea of creating a tutorial-making channel on youtube, & he had asked you to co-run the account with him. he had millions of ideas of what to make tutorials of; maybe you two could produce tips & tutorials on how to become the best player at “work at a pizza place”, or perhaps how to become the best player at navigating through obbies?? all these options seemed viable, but deivy eventually settled on a decision; creating tutorials for new players about a ROBLOX game called “world tower defense”. it was, by far, deivy’s favorite game out of all of the games both he & you had suggested, & even if you didn’t see the hype about the game, you agreed to go along with the plan anyway.

the turquoise, flickering lanterns levitating in their spots around deivy’s form repeated the mind-numbing motion ceaselessly, with the dim light flickering occasionally in the dark vicinity. deivy himself was ignoring this, with the lanterns floating around his body & following him around as he trudged along the remains. it was a map he had never explored before, & that was saying something. he was curious about the place, & have it not been his naïveté, perhaps he would’ve never ventured this far into this place. it was treacherous, what with the floating bridge-ways being the only modes of transport & getting-around here. he couldn’t see the ground, no matter how far down he’d look or how much he’d focus. he’d even sacrificed a lantern by throwing it down into the void-like abyss, but the lantern never shattered nor collided with any obstacle down there. deivy had simply looked back up again & swallowed down the trepidation creeping up his throat in the form of a lump. it threatened to claw its way into his mouth & make him call out for help, but he didn’t dare do that.

the place was barren. devoid of players. perhaps it was the eeriness of the place, deivy didn’t exactly know, but he chalked it up to that. hell, he would’ve never been here himself if it weren’t for his undying sense of curiosity drawing him deeper & deeper into this map. so far, he’d seen numerous stone-clad statues standing around in idle positions, nothing too extravagant, but one thing about the statues scattered around the place was that they didn’t seem to be made of stone. the stone seemed to be clad onto a base. the base, deivy had no idea what it was. he could only suppose it was something wooden or polystyrene, but he had missed the chipped areas of the statues where the base of the statues was exposed for him to see. yet, in the dim light of the three measly lanterns surrounding him, he had missed it. he didn’t quite catch onto the fact that those stone statues were the conserved bodies of previous players who had dared to venture so deep into the remains.

deivy turned another corner. & another. the whole layout of these stone pathways suspended over an endless void was nothing short of an elaborate labyrinth, & deivy had no clue where he would be heading next due to the black fog that hung only a few meters in front of him each time he’d take a step. it was confusing, much less frightening to some degree, but deivy pushed on nonetheless.

eventually, after another full five minutes or so of incessant walking, deivy’s eyes suddenly spotted a figure in the distance. that rose-pink torso, he could recognise anywhere. it was you! geometry_squared!! he hadn’t been expecting to find you anywhere near here, but nonetheless it was an extremely pleasant surprise that he had spotted you. you were standing with your back to him at the end of the stone path, right where the path split into two. deivy grinned.

” geometry!! „, he exclaimed, beginning to jog over to you.
