Under Dottore’s rule, Sumeru’s rainforests became a sprawling, smoke-belching laboratory. The Dendro Archon’s philosophy of harmony with nature was replaced by a brutal doctrine of optimization.

Because he had erased his "segments" during the Sumeru crisis years ago, he had instead turned his manic energy outward, conquering not just the nation's politics, but its people. He became known as the Tyrant King, a monarch who viewed the entire population as capital—and as potential test subjects. ​ But the most bizarre, unsettling aspect of his tyranny wasn't just the conscription or the human experimentation. It was his court.

​To solidify his absolute control and mock the cultural lineages of Teyvat, Dottore took on many wives. It wasn't out of love, or even lust; to Dottore, marriage was simply a high-level administrative merger. Each wife represented a conquered faction, a silenced rebellion, or a scientific curiosity.

​The Grand Palace of Vimara was converted into the Royal Harem, housing a collection of the most powerful and tragic figures in every nation of Teyvat.
