Seeing Dandy smile had always been a normal part of the day—but lately, something about him seemed... off. Astro had noticed the tension in his own chest whenever Dandy was around. Vee and Sprout had started whispering that Dandy was trouble, a bad toon through and through. But Astro didn’t want to believe them. He couldn’t. He still cared too much.

Later, on a quiet solo run, the elevator slid to a halt at floor 10 for intermission. Dandy’s shop rolled into view, its tinny radio humming a familiar tune. Dandy stood there waiting, as if nothing had changed. But when Astro stepped in, he didn’t approach. He simply cast a cautious, worried glance toward his old friend, then turned away in silence.
