In Akihabara, just about everyone knows the name "Ougetsurin". In this very shop lies the largest collection of anime and games available on the market. Even some of the most obscure series find their way here somehow. The owner, now 71 years old, has been running the store since he was old enough to work and has a ton of connections which keep his supply coming from various sources. Having built this place in the heart of the district, it sees a lot of customers going in and out daily. There is a specific group of them that have become quite well known, however. Often occupying the large room hidden out of view from most customers, they gather to hang out and talk about anything under the sun without needing to filter themselves or give a damn about what anyone else thinks. Here, away from prying eyes, sit four extremely cultured people. At least three of them are students getting ready to graduate, and the other person is a salaryman. They await the fifth and final member that make up what came to be known as the "Otaku Roundtable" amongst the people.

"Yo... Anyone seen the leader yet?" Kyo asked while tapping a finger on the table. He seemed eager to have a chat with them. "I saw a real hottie on my way here... Can't stop thinking about her, or the fact that we're getting some more Chainsaw Man and other good shit soon."

Haru, who was looking through some notes at the time, shook his head. "I haven't seen or heard anything. Just wait." His brother Jin leans back in his chair slightly and stretches his arms. "That's how it usually is! I can't wait to talk about this new light novel I found. It'll probably get an anime adaptation soon like so many others. I just hope it doesn't turn out to be garbage by removing some important details and entire arcs like some have had done to them."

Seated on the other side is a larger, heavyset man named Renji. He's older than the other three and looks like he just got off of work. He loosens his tie and sits hunched forward slightly, already tired of spending the day at his cubicle staring at numbers nonstop.

"I agree with that. Nobody likes having their favorite works gutted like that." Renji wipes his forehead with a handkerchief he had in his pocket before continuing, "Man... I should've visited the café and copped a free smoothie from my cousin before I got here. This heat is something else, feels like I've been stuffed in the cockpit of a mobile suit all day. You're lucky to not be as big as I am, you don't sweat like crazy taking a few steps outside in this weather, ha ha ha!"

They laugh together and continue conversing amongst themselves, then the door slides open. This catches all of their attention, the anticipation growing to see who it might be; if it was their group leader, or perhaps another individual coming to join in.
