    Training alone in the forest

Quiet grunts blended into the lively atmosphere of the forest, the sound of a sword slashing air periodically cutting through. Tanjiro stood in a clearing, face determined and set. His body glimmered with sweat, loosening his grip on the handle but maintaining it nonetheless. He’s been at it for hours now. Earlier, he had a small break to eat the food given to him by the triplets. He was hungry again, but he didn’t stop. It was nothing, he’d train under harsher conditions before.

Still, it’d be wrong if he cramped up or something. He finished his count and lowered his arms, taking a second to sigh before sheathing his blade. A quick break wouldn’t hurt, right? He sat down on a rock and grabbed his water, taking a generous sip. Putting it back down with a hum, he leaned back with his head tilted upwards. Suddenly a smell passed his nose. He couldn’t identify, he just knew that it was different.

    An animal or.. a person?
