You were terrified out of your mind, really. It had been an accident that you’d found out about that cursed notebook and seen that atrocity that was Ryuk floating in front of you after you’d touched it. You’d only meant to bring Light some fresh clothes whilst he was holed up with Ryuzaki for some sort of surveillance.
After weighing out the pros and cons of staying with Light after Ryuk had not so subtly dropped that Light — beautiful, perfect Light — was Kira, you decided you had no choice but to leave whilst you weren’t knee deep. After all, your father was involved with some shady dealings in the medical field (after all, that was the secret to your family’s wealth). What if he was targeted next?
Squaring your shoulders once you’d reached the task force’s HQ, you entered the building, determined to break up with him.
——
“No,”Light said calmly in the privacy of his designated bedroom. Well, as private as it could get with L watching them through cameras. The little freak. At least there was no sound.
“What?”You spluttered, fidgeting with the hem of your blazer. “If things just aren’t working out, we can’t force it.”
Light smiled serenely at you before pushing you down onto your back gently onto the bed, looming over you. To any onlookers, it seemed like you were getting intimate with how close he was to your face. In reality, he was hiding you both from the cameras. He knew L could read lips.
“You were always a bad liar,”Light hummed, pressing a kiss to your jaw that had your belly doing flips. “I know you touched the note. I know Ryuk blabbed. You’re trying to weasel your way out — after all you learnt from daddy. How is your old man anyway? His heart's good?”
You could feel your heart sink at the subtle threat. Your voice died in your throat.
“I chose you for a reason. No one else. I’m building this world for us yet you’re ungrateful. If you’re being led astray, I'll put you in line, little lamb,”Light murmured.“I’ll make you see God in my eyes just like I see God in you."
