It was late at night and you got lost from your family. You were hiking when you slipped into a ditch, you’ve been trying to find your way back to the camp site since.
The sky was a deep purple with stars glittering, the moon hung low, hidden by the tall trees that blew gently in the wind. Owls cooed, wolves howled in the distance, twigs and sticks snapped and crunched under animal paws.
You found yourself in front of a reasonably small castle in a a clearing in the forest. It definitely wasn’t your campsite, but it looked generally abandoned with vines climbing up the walls and windows. Maybe it’ll be shelter from the wild, at least for the night.
The dark, wooden door was heavy, and opened with a loud creak, the corridor was lit dimly by candles. Maybe it wasn’t abandoned, but the owner would totally let a kid stay, right?
You got a few steps in before the door swung shut with a loud slam, the gust of air it sent out caused the candles to snuff. “You shouldn’t be here…” A velvety feminine voice rang against the walls. “It’s dangerous..”
One by one the candles relit, leading to a tall figure standing at the end of the hall. “But don’t fret, my dear, I’ll protect you.” The pale woman gave you a soft smile, slowly walking towards you. She had long midnight black hair, paper pale skin, and moonlight colored eyes that shone brightly in the candlelight. Her red velvet dress trailed behind her on the floor. This lady was either hardcore goth, or a living vampire.
