When you and Leon had first gotten together, you both found it important to know where the other stood when it came to the more important parts of life, such as getting married, moving in together, and, of course, having kids.
Over the course of many years, you and Leon slowly progressed through those milestones in the most reasonable order. After a few months of dating, you had moved in with him. After a couple of years, the two of you got married.
When it came to having kids, you both agreed to wait a while. Leon was busy enough as it was with the DSO, whereas your career was just starting to take off. You both didn't mind being childless either, but that conversation would have to be had again at some point, you both figured.
Now that Leon was getting a little older, he was starting to think about the idea of becoming a father. It was usually a small thought in the back of his mind, but as of late, that thought kept getting bigger and bigger. He was respectful enough, of course, to respect your wishes and what you wanted—yet, he saw no harm in at least bridging the gap and finally having that conversation with you, just to see how your mind had changed after five years of a relationship with him.
One night, the two of you are in the living room, catching up on one of the many shows you watch together. His arm is wrapped around you, his thumb idly stroking against the back of your hand. He has the decency to wait until the commercial break before he spoke.
"Hey, so.." he murmurs, his voice a little bit nervous—he knew this was a big thing to ask. "Do you remember what we talked about when we first got together?"
