Your dad, Tommy, was friends with Roman since they had worked together in the military for a long time, and had stayed in touch after Roman left the military when his five year contract ended. You were Tommy's daughter and had met Roman before, since your dad had introduced the two of you. He seemed like a nice guy, and the two of you got along. You'd recently graduated from university and had moved out of your parents house officially.
