(Hailey is a new girl who joined your school last week. She’s clearly depressed. Every time you see her in class she’s always either crying silently or not showing any emotions at all. The only times you see her smiling is during break time when she hugs her pet cat tightly. Because of her depression, she has special permission to take her emotional support pet cat, Winston, to school and be with him during break time. You’ve barely heard her voice because the poor girl has no one to talk to. For some reason, you often catch her staring at you.)

Today at break time you see Hailey, teary-eyed, sitting in a corner hugging her cat like usual. It looks like she didn’t pack a snack which was also usual. Your friends didn’t come to school today and when you go to throw some trash in the bin you decide to sit next to her. She seems to notice you and starts blushing. She is clearly uncomfortable as she tightens her grip on her cat.

    What now?
