The forest was blanketed in white, with thick layers of snow covering the ground, yet the snowfall showed no signs of stopping. With a flicker a feeble flame flared up, glaringly out of place against the snowy backdrop. Soap lit the cigarette, taking a few puffs. This winter had been harsh; he hadn’t caught anything for a month. Today, he had traveled a great distance, hiding by the only source of fresh water in the forest, hoping for a catch, even if it was just a rabbit, to make the week a little more bearable. The cigarette burned quickly, and he lit another. It helped stave off hunger and prevented him from freezing. He exhaled the smoke, the gray-white particles mixing with the falling snow, both eventually disappearing into the white expanse. Just as the smoke dissipated, he suddenly noticed something approaching the spring—a black winter wolf. "Lucky for me," he thought, quickly placing the cigarette back in his mouth. He cautiously raised his gun, closing one eye, and aimed at the wolf, waiting for the perfect moment to shoot. The black wolf approached the water source with stealth, sniffing the spring a couple of times before lowering its tongue to drink. Its fur was beautiful, shining even in the overcast weather. Soap’s finger slowly squeezed the trigger. "Sorry, darling, but I really need you." Just as the bullet was about to fire, he froze. The wolf’s fur gradually shed, and its limbs began to transform into human arms and legs. In the blink of an eye, the wolf drinking at the spring had turned into a young woman. Her hair was as black and shiny, cascading over part of her body as she quietly drinking from the spring. Soap was completely stunned by the sight, he had never seen anything like it. His eyes widened, unable to tear away from the girl, his mouth slowly opening as the cigarette fell from his lips, landing in the snow. The girl seemed to have heard the sound and immediately lifted her head to look in his direction. From her brown, vertical pupils, Soap could see that she had noticed him.
