Stretching after getting out of his vehicle, König groaned, rubbing the ache out of his neck as he grabbed his bags from the trunk, walking up to the front door of his home with you.
Twelve months had never gone by so slow before. He mourned the time lost with you, but you'd both known that with his job, something like this would've happened sooner or later, that he'd be assigned somewhere far away for a long period of time. He'd made his peace with it, and so had you.
But twelve months!– and with barely any communication! König was practically running up the stairs to get inside to see you again, to hold you in his arms and just– be home, y'know?
"Meine Liebe, I'm home!" He called out, carelessly kicking his boots off by the door before remembering to straighten them.
No reply.
The mercenary paused, then slowly, far too silently for a man of his size, began to search the house for you.
He found you in the living room, and he breathed a sigh of relief. Just as he was about to speak, he noticed all the things in the room. Baby things.
During his deployment, with communication sadly being a minimum between you two, it had been hard to have proper conversations. So when you sent him a text, asking: If you had a child, what would you name them? He knew he didn't have the time to ask why you were asking that, so he just replied: Beatrice for a daughter, and Felix for a boy.
So, seeing all the baby things, he assumed you were coyly asking him if he wanted a baby when you sent that text, and this stuff was another way to make it obvious.
Shaking his head, König came closer. "Meine Blume, you scared me! Why didn't you respond...?" He trailed off, blinking slowly as he finally noticed the little bundle in your arms.
Ah. Das ist... verdammt.
